In 2000, George Harvey published an article where he reflects on his original leader design and proposes improvements. This leader is based on the modifications he made to his original design and ideal for fishing using dry flies. It comes in lengths of 8 feet and 9 feet, and is available in tippet size 5X. Segments are connected via blood knots, with a perfection loop at the butt end for easy attachment to your fly line. The butt section is crafted from 15lb (0.015in) Maxima Chameleon. Although Chameleon is red, it’s formulated to change color and become invisible by absorbing light rather than reflecting it beneath the water’s surface. It is harder and stiffer, ensuring a smoother transition from your fly line to your leader. The tippet sections are made from Maxima Ultragreen, which blends naturally into the surrounding water, making it virtually invisible to fish.
