Small Stream - Fly Fishing Leader

This 6-segment tapered leader is ideal for anglers who enjoy fishing small streams. The concept of a “small stream” can vary widely depending on one’s geographical location. This leader is specifically designed for situations where the trees on both sides of the stream meet above you, and where the water is shallow enough that rocks, logs, and other obstacles extend above the water’s surface. Its short length ensures that you always maintain control over the fly line. The power in the fly line is transmitted directly through the leader to the fly, allowing you to execute precise maneuvers such as slicing your line between branches, landing your fly on the far side of a boulder, and targeting a riffle leading into a perfect pool.

It is 7 feet long with a tippet sizes of 4X (.007in). Segments are connected via blood knots, with a perfection loop at the butt end for easy attachment to your fly line. The butt section is crafted from 15lb (0.015in) Maxima Chameleon. Although Chameleon is red, it’s formulated to change color and become invisible by absorbing light rather than reflecting it beneath the water’s surface. It is harder and stiffer, ensuring a smoother transition from your fly line to your leader. The tippet sections are made from Maxima Ultragreen, which blends naturally into the surrounding water, making it virtually invisible to fish.
